Farnborough Under 12s

Welcome to a new season of rugby at Farnborough RFC with the Under 12's squad.

After an extremely successful and educational season at U10’s, the squad moves into the U12’s. The addition of a second row to the scrum, a full back and the introduction of kicking; brings the squad one step closer to the 15 man game.

This season, in training, we will be focusing on, solidifying our core skills; distribution (running, passing), contact (tackling, rucking, and mauling), development of set pieces, and tactical awareness. Enjoyment has always been and always will be our primary objective. With enjoyment comes development, with development comes teamwork and with teamwork comes success. As coaches we are extremely fortunate to have a superb group of players who’s attitudes and characters have established a tremendous team spirit.

We have a strong and competitive squad of some 24 players, a lot of which have been with us since U7’s, as well as others who have only just started to play rugby last season. We are always happy to see new players come down and join in, whether a seasoned player or a complete novice, the squad will always welcome them.

Please remember to bring appropriate equipment and clothing for the conditions. Scrumcaps and body armour are optional but a properly fitting gum shields is mandatory. Proper aluminium rugby studs are preferred for training and are mandatory for all competitive games, moulded football boots are fine, but the metal nylon mix can cause injury.
