Farnborough Under 10's

Welcome to a new season of rugby with the Under 10's squad, for players who are under 10 years of age as at 1 September 2008 .

Following a terrific season in the U9’s last season, the teams continue to play 9-a-side contact rugby with the only changes for this season being the introduction of contested 3-man scrums and line-outs.

Greater emphasis on the importance of possession, position, set pieces and link up play will become apparent as the game becomes more expansive and players accept greater responsibility.

Training will focus on developing and improving specific areas of the game:

• set piece management
• contact skills
• defensive and offensive positional play
• ball handling and distribution skills

Please remember to bring the appropriate equipment and clothing for the conditions. Scrum caps and body armour are optional but gum-shields are mandatory and boots with proper rugby studs should be worn. Tracksuit bottoms must not have any zips!

Enjoyment of the game is the main priority and effort as well as good play will always be acknowledged.

2007/8 was tremendous for players, parents and coaches alike and we look forward to another enjoyable, successful and rewarding season!
